Tetra Model Works Dust Pattern Mask Series Set I are self-adhesive masking stencils for spraying dusty and dust-covered areas on models. It is not a set of masks for glazing and not a paint but an aid for weathering.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of masking stencils with dust patterns from the Japanese maker Tetra Model Works. They are not masks for canopy glazing and not a paint - it is a tool for weathering: you lay the stencil on the model, mist a dust shade lightly over it and after removal an irregular structure of settled dust and deposits remains, of the kind that is hard to create freehand. The pattern thus comes out sharper and repeatable, but at the same time random, because it depends on the rotation and the distance of the stencil.
The model has to be painted and ideally fixed with a varnish, so that the masking does not leave its mark on the base color. Lay the stencil on an area where dust would really hold - on horizontal surfaces, around protrusions, under edges and above the running gear. Spray the paint thinned to semi-transparency perpendicularly and in several weak coats, so that it does not run under the edge of the stencil. It is better not to put the pattern everywhere the same: vary the rotation, leave part of the area clean and soften the transitions with a thin freehand spray or a dry pigment. Wipe the stencil after use, so that the remains of the paint do not clog the fine openings.
This is not a model and not a paint. Paints, thinner and an airbrush are not included in the package. When spraying, ventilate and use respiratory protection.
