Earth Brown FS 30099, an earth brown in 17 ml

A paint from the Real Colors range by AK Interactive with the code RC892, a bottle of 17 ml. The dark earth brown tone is fixed by the number FS 30099 from the American color standard, so you know which shade you are buying even though the paint names differ from maker to maker.

The real subject

Earth brown belongs to the set of shades from which the American army built multi-color camouflage for vehicles and equipment. The fields were combined according to the environment and the season: brown held a machine in the colors of plowed soil and forest undergrowth and, alongside green and sandy tones, broke up its outline. On a model it also suits work away from a camouflage scheme, because it fits dried mud, wooden crates and cargo meant to look dusty.

Working with the paint

• The dark tone covers readily, but still apply thin coats so that engraving stays legible.
• In a multi-color scheme, spray it according to the pattern in the kit instructions; the shapes of the fields differ from machine to machine.
• Lay masks before spraying and only on a cured coat underneath.
• Shake the bottle before work; the pigment settles at the bottom.
• Thin it with the product recommended for this range and try the ratio on a scrap.

Who it will serve
