Easy

What kind of model it is

A hand-launched glider offered under the name Easy. Hand-launched gliders are small engineless model aircraft that are launched by a throw from the hand and glide for as long as the air carries them. They fly with no transmitter, no engine and no batteries, so you can set out with them practically anywhere there is enough open space and nobody in the way.

How a hand-launched glider is flown

The model is released at an angle upward with a smooth throw, not a sharp hurl; excess force only turns it over and throws it to the ground. The best conditions tend to be in calm air or a light breeze, that is typically in the morning and toward evening. Fly over a grassy area, well away from roads, power lines and people, because the model goes where you send it and not always where you aim. After each landing it is worth looking the model over to see whether anything has worked loose or cracked.

Trimming and care

On hand-launched gliders the flying qualities are tuned by the position of the center of gravity and by the setting of the tail surfaces. A model that climbs sharply after release and drops onto a wing, and a model that heads straight for the ground, both need trimming. The recommended values and the permitted procedure for adjustments on this type are given in the instructions from the manufacturer, because they differ according to the structure and the material. Repair small damage after a hard landing at once, while it is still a small crack.
