Paint Forge Ellipse Stencils L is a universal stencil with elliptical cutouts in the larger L format. Nobody sprays an ellipse evenly freehand — that is what this aid is for.

A geometric stencil from Paint Forge with elliptical shapes, offered in the larger size L. The ellipse is a shape that cuts miserably out of masking tape and sprays even worse freehand. The stencil gets around that problem: you lay it on, hold it and you have a clean regular shape that can be repeated in the same form on the next model at any time.
With one and the same stencil you get two rather different results. When you press it down tightly and spray perpendicular, the edge will be as sharp as from tape. When on the contrary you lift it a few millimeters above the surface, the paint gets under the edge deliberately and a soft transition appears, of the kind that suits shading and freer schemes. Pack a lifted stencil up with a strip of card, say, so that it keeps the same height around the whole perimeter.
It will be appreciated mainly by modelers of science-fiction hardware, the authors of their own fictional schemes and everyone who does graphics on bases and dioramas. Because it is a universal aid with no tie to a particular kit, it will serve across scales and genres and will stay in the toolbox long after the model you got it for is finished.
The stencil serves for applying paint. Paints and tools are not included.
