A resin, 3D printed set from RESArm representing a drop (jettisonable) auxiliary fuel tank for a model of the American carrier fighter Grumman F6F Hellcat in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane kit but an ordnance accessory with which you complete the stores under the fuselage or the wings.
An auxiliary tank extended the range of the Hellcat on transit flights as well as combat missions and is a typical part of the equipment of these aircraft. The resin casting offers a more faithful shape and surface than the part from an ordinary plastic kit and also suits bringing dioramas or carrier deck scenes to life.
Wash the part free of remnants of the mold release agent, separate it from the casting block and glue it with cyanoacrylate. Fill and sand the joints if needed; protect your airways when sanding resin. We recommend a primer coat before painting.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the basic kit are not included in the package.
