An injection-molded plastic kit of a beaded van trailer, a covered freight trailer with pressed (ribbed) sides, in 1:25 scale from the American maker AMT. It is not a tractor but a trailer, which couples to a model of a tractor. The parts are on sprues and it is built by gluing and painting.
Fruehauf was a major American trailer maker. The beaded van type has characteristic longitudinally pressed walls, which stiffen the body of a covered trailer about 40 feet long. These trailers carried both loose and palletized freight behind American tractors.
The trailer has large flat surfaces, so it pays to clean the joints up carefully and spray an even primer. Assemble and paint the chassis, the axles and the support legs before finishing. Washes and pigments on the chassis and the fenders will add realistic traces of use.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
