Madworks D.L.C. Line Engraver 0.3 mm

A scriber from the D.L.C. range of the Taiwanese brand Madworks. The blade has a DLC (Diamond-like Carbon) coating, which increases the hardness, reduces friction and improves resistance to wear. The 0.3 mm blade width scribes more pronounced, deeper panel lines suited to larger scales.

What it is for

The scriber serves for scribing and restoring panel lines and grooves. The width of the blade determines the width of the resulting groove; the manufacturer offers a whole range of thicknesses and you choose the one that matches the scale and the depth you want. It is suitable for plastic (ABS/PVC), resin and epoxy models. It is a separate blade that you clamp into a compatible handle. In ordinary use the blade will last two years or more.

Usage tips

• Guide the blade along the contour of the surface and do not press hard.
• Scribe the line with repeated light strokes rather than one deep one.
• Use a guide tape or a template for straight lines.
