A set of landscaping materials from the German maker HEKI intended so that a finished model landscape can be repaired and brought back to life quickly. The maker describes it as a set with which parts of a landscape can be newly treated or beautified, whether it is a matter of small repairs, of adding details or of simply refreshing an area that has grayed and grown dusty after years of use. The point of such a set is a practical one: instead of buying individual materials you get a make-up in one package that goes together in color.
Before a repair, rid the area of dust, best with a vacuum cleaner through a stocking or with a soft brush, otherwise the new material sticks to the old layer of dirt and comes loose again before long. Remains of the original vegetation that are peeling off are better removed entirely. Apply the new material in irregular islands and vary it in color, so that the repaired place does not look like a patch. Fine tune the transition to the surroundings by letting the density fall away toward the edges.
For owners of older layouts and dioramas who want to repair a landscape without a major rebuild, and for modelers who will value having material at hand instead of individual purchases. This is a modeling material, not a toy. The maker marks its landscaping goods as not suitable for children under fifteen years of age.
