The Nissan Fairlady Z is the Japanese name of the coupe that was sold on western markets as the Datsun 240Z and its successors. The car from the turn of the 1960s and 1970s was built around a long hood, an L-series inline six-cylinder engine and rear-wheel drive. The combination of an affordable price, reliable engineering and an unmistakable silhouette made it one of the most influential Japanese sports cars of all, popular with builders of period conversions as well.
Kaido House is the brand of the designer Jun Imai, which builds models in the spirit of the Japanese street and circuit scene. The police variant combines the typical two-tone scheme with lowered suspension, wide fenders and period wheels. The model has right-hand drive matching the Japanese real subject and well-worked printing of the lettering and insignia.
Nothing is assembled or painted; the model comes finished and sealed in a collector's box with a clear window. The metal body and chassis give it a pleasant weight in the hand, the interior and fittings are plastic and the tires rubber. Passenger car models in 1:64 scale measure around seven centimeters, so a good number of them fit side by side in a display case, and the police version works among them as a striking piece.
