Wheel chocks for an aircraft in 1:48 scale, version one. The set holds four pieces and a decal.
Responsibility details are not available.
As soon as an aircraft stops on an apron, the ground crew put wheel chocks under its wheels. The brakes are released once it is parked and the machine could start rolling on a slope or in the wind. Chocks therefore belong with every believably built aircraft on an airfield apron, and they are details a viewer notices straight away, because they lie low on the ground where the eye runs down the landing gear.
Four chocks, that is, a pair for each of two wheels, and a decal with them. Decals are usually transferred the wet way: the motif is cut out, dipped in water for a few seconds and, once free of its carrier, slid onto a dampened spot, from where the rest of the water is pressed out with a soft cloth. Before you soak the sheet, though, check in the instructions whether it is not a self-adhesive version, because a soaked self-adhesive film is ruined beyond repair.
Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; on a smooth, non-absorbent surface cyanoacrylate glue holds more reliably than polystyrene cement. Place the chocks against the tire from front and rear so that the sloping face touches the wheel and the whole underside sits down on the base. Choose the paint according to the scene and dust the lower edge lightly with the shade of the base the model stands on. On real equipment chocks get scuffed against concrete, so it pays to suggest scuffs and dust on them more strongly than on the aircraft itself.
The package contains chocks and a decal. The model, a base, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
