A masking set in 1:48 scale for spraying the American national insignia of 1943 to 1947, that is the star completed with side bars.
Responsibility details are not available.
In 1943 the American national insignia was given side bars on both sides of the star, and it kept that form until 1947. The difference from the earlier round insignia is visible on a model at once, so placing the machine in the right period matters a great deal. A sprayed version moreover has a sharp edge without carrier film, which looks cleaner on a matte coat than a decal.
This is a masking set with the American national insignia from the period 1943 to 1947, in 1:48 scale. How many insignia the set carries, in which sizes and what material the mask is made of can be found from the manufacturer's information. The extent of the package is on the box and in the manufacturer's instructions.
Stick the mask onto a dry, smooth and degreased coat still before spraying. Apply the paint in several weak coats at a right angle to the surface, or it will run under the edge. The insignia has several color fields, so it is sprayed in stages with gradual uncovering. In what order is given in the manufacturer's instructions, because it depends on the version of the set.
The set is aimed at modelers in 1:48 scale who are building an American aircraft from the later part of the war or from the first postwar years. The procedure is simple; it just calls for careful pressing of the edges. The model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
