The MiG-29 is a Soviet fighter aircraft. The pilot gets into the cabin by a ladder brought up to it, on the frame of the canopy he has rearview mirrors and the aircraft carries an antenna on the fuselage. These are small things a kit either does not have at all or deals with by a thick plastic part; and yet it is exactly they that decide whether a finished model looks like a machine ready to fly.

Glue the mirrors and the antenna on at the very end, after painting and after fitting the canopy; before that they break off or are flooded by the varnish. Hold the small parts with tweezers and apply the glue in a minute amount with the tip of a wire, and adapt the choice of glue to the material given on the packaging. Clean and degrease the surfaces before joining. On a model the ladder stands at the side of the fuselage under the cabin; it has to stand upright and sit down with its whole foot on the base, or the scene looks askew. Apply the paint in thin coats, so that the small shapes are not flooded.
