Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet Il-2 ground attack aircraft in the single-seat 1941 version, in 1:144 scale from Zvezda. It is a snap-fit model whose parts fit into one another and can be assembled without glue. The box contains the parts of the aircraft, decals and a base. Thanks to the tiny scale it is an undemanding build that suits collections and the gaming table.
The Il-2 Shturmovik was a Soviet single-engine ground attack aircraft of the Second World War and one of the most heavily produced combat aircraft in history. It was marked by an armored tub protecting the pilot, the engine and the tanks, and by heavy attack armament. The early machines of 1941 were single-seaters, without a rear gunner. The Il-2 was used against ground targets, tanks and columns, and among the soldiers it earned a number of feared nicknames.
Although this is a snap-fit kit, we recommend securing the joints with a drop of cement for plastic. Clean the parts up carefully and apply a primer before painting. Small surfaces are best sprayed with an airbrush; the typical two-color upper camouflage and light underside are completed by decals applied over a smooth gloss base. Mask the cockpit glazing so that it stays clear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
