A figure of a German officer of the Second World War period in 1:16 scale, intended for the sidecar of a motorcycle.
Responsibility details are not available.
The subject is a German officer of the Second World War period, and he is expressly intended for the sidecar of a motorcycle. The figure is therefore conceived as vehicle crew and not as a free-standing character, and it comes fully into its own only once seated in the sidecar, where it completes the rider and brings the whole assembly to life.
For figures 1:16 is a large scale: a figure in it reaches roughly eleven centimeters, so the modeling of the face, the buttons and the folds of the cloth are all visible. That is an opportunity and an obligation at the same time, because at this size both well executed work with shadows and every hasty stroke of the brush show. The figure suits models of vehicles in the same scale and stands up just as well on its own on a plinth.
Choose the glue according to what you find in the package: cement for plastic works on polystyrene, super glue or a two-component adhesive on other materials. Cut off the excess material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder gently, so that the texture of the surface does not disappear. Wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap before painting and let them dry through properly. Try dry how the figure seats into the sidecar before you start painting it. Apply the paint in thin coats, build the shadows and highlights up gradually with glazes and leave the face for the end.
The package contains the figure named. The vehicle, a plinth, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
