An injection-molded plastic kit of the small Japanese Subaru Sambar van (type K88) with a high roof and 4WD drive in 1:24 scale from Aoshima, The Model Car line. The kit captures the late version of the third generation and is complemented by parts for leisure time, for example a surfboard, an inflatable boat and snorkels. The wheels are in the ten-inch steel disc version.
The Subaru Sambar is a light utility vehicle of the kei category with a cab-over-engine layout. A characteristic feature of the line was the rear engine position and independent suspension on all wheels. The high roof and all-wheel drive made the van a practical helper even for trips to sport and recreation.
The molds date from earlier, so expect more careful cleanup of the parts and the mold parting lines. Spray the body with an airbrush over a primer and bring the leisure accessories to life with contrasting colors. Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
