A 480 gallon FPU-11 auxiliary fuel tank in 1:32 scale, one piece in the box. For Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler models.
Responsibility details are not available.
External tanks of 480 gallons, about 1820 liters, are standard equipment on the Super Hornet family. They are hung on the underwing and ventral pylons and extend the aircraft's range where its internal fuel would not be enough. The FPU-11 is one version of these tanks. On the model it is a prominent elongated part, and the viewer notices its shape and smooth surface before any fine panel detail.
The box holds one tank in 1:32 scale, intended to replace the kit part. The exact extent of the parts is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder; run the sandpaper along the axis of the tank so that no flat spots appear on the curved surface. Then wash the part in lukewarm soapy water and let it dry. Glue the tank on with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) and while the glue sets, check from the front that it hangs vertically and parallel with the fuselage. Apply the paint over a primer in thin coats; a smooth surface will not take a heavy layer.
The set suits builders of the Super Hornet in large scale who want their external stores at the same level as the rest of the model. The work is quick and needs no special tools.
The aircraft model, the paints and the glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
