The upgraded generation of the Sparrow missile family, here in the version with bold color markings. The High Vis attribute refers to the practice of the day, when ordnance was distinguished by bright bands legible at a distance. The set is added to the pylons of your own model.

The development line of the weapon

The F version meant a technological leap for the whole family. The new electronics fitted into a smaller space, so room was left both for a larger warhead and for a more powerful dual-thrust motor. The result was a noticeably longer range and better behavior when attacking targets flying low over the terrain. The weapon appeared under the F-4 Phantom II, the F-14 Tomcat, the F-15 Eagle and lighter types as well, and it formed the backbone of the missile armament of the US Air Force and Navy in the 1970s.

Painting step by step

A light body calls for an even base, otherwise every irregularity will show through the gloss. Apply the color bands in layers over masking tape, so that the edges stay sharp. At the end, dust the weapon only very lightly; conspicuous markings are meant to stay legible, and exaggerated wear would defeat the whole point of the finish.
