Four AIM-9D Sidewinder guided missiles for models in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Sidewinder is a short-range air-to-air guided missile with infrared guidance, which is among the most widespread armament of fighter aircraft. The designation AIM-9D belongs to an earlier configuration of this family, so it suits models of machines from an earlier period.
The package contains four missiles in 1:32 scale, that is the usual number for fitting a pair of pylons on each wing half. The breakdown of the parts of one missile and the assembly procedure are given in the instructions from the manufacturer.
The parts are not polystyrene and are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest flat, so that the glued surface seats with no gap. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will hold badly on them. Set the fins and the stabilizing surfaces so that they match on all four rounds, otherwise it will show on the model at first glance. Paint the missiles separately and hang them once the model is finished; choose the color markings from a photograph of the real machine.
The set suits builders of large models who want to replace the coarser missiles from a kit or to fit a model with a full set of stores. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
