1:32 CATM-120C Captive air training missiles is a resin accessory from Reskit with captive training missiles for aircraft models in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The accessory contains external stores for an already built model of a combat aircraft and on its own makes no machine. The abbreviation CATM designates a captive training missile: the body matches a combat missile of medium range, but inside it the motor and the warhead are missing. It serves for training in which the crew works with the real weight and with a real link to the onboard systems, without anything being launched. For a modeler it is an interesting choice, because training rounds look different from combat ones and machines in peacetime service can be portrayed with them.
The combat counterpart of this missile is the basic weapon of air combat at medium range with a number of Western air forces. It works autonomously in the final part of its flight path, which allows the carrier to break away from the target before the hit occurs. The training version appears on aircraft in everyday operation far more often than live ordnance, and it therefore tends to be a typical element of machines captured at air bases. The unmistakable mark of inert rounds is the colored stripes that set them apart from the live version.
Rid the parts of the mold release by washing and cut them from the casting blocks with a cut at the root. Level the surface by sanding wet and take care to protect your breathing. Reach for cyanoacrylate glue for the joint and provide the surface with a primer before painting, so that the paint holds.
