Reskit 1:32 – a resin set of GBU-12 bombs, two pieces in the package. Crisply cast laser-guided bombs to complete the underwing stores of combat aircraft models.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a model of an aircraft, but a resin set of underwing armament in 1:32 scale. According to the name the package contains two GBU-12 laser-guided bombs. Resin castings have crisper edges than injection-molded plastic, finer surface relief and above all no parting seam, which on plastic bombs runs the whole length of the body and in this scale is hard to retouch. The set suits anywhere the kit either has no GBU-12 at all or only has them coarsely molded.
The GBU-12 is an American laser-guided bomb of the Paveway family, made up of a classic 500-pound class aircraft bomb body with a guidance head carrying a laser seeker at the front and folding stabilizing surfaces at the rear. It is one of the most widespread weapons of its kind, carried by a wide range of combat aircraft, so the set will find use with a great many kits.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent first, so that any release agent residue is removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc, not with nippers. It pays to sand wet and with respiratory protection. Resin is glued with cyanoacrylate; cement for plastic has no effect on it. Prime before painting, and remember that underwing armament tends to have a flatter finish than the airframe — so it is best to spray it separately and attach it to the model at the very end.
This is a resin accessory for a model. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
