1:32 GBU-15(V)21, 22/B Small Wing bombs (2 pcs) holds two glide bombs with a cruciform wing and one data link pod.
Responsibility details are not available.
The variants designated (V)21 and (V)22/B can be told from their siblings by the shorter cruciform surfaces, which the manufacturer calls the small wing. Reskit supplies two pieces and with them one AN/AXQ-14 pod, which links the weapon to the crew. The parts are made by printing in resin in 1:32 scale.
The modular glide weapon came about by attaching a guidance head at the front of a standard bomb body and an aerodynamic module at the rear. The crew did not have to stay over the target, because the weapon flew on its own and the operator steered it by the picture transmitted through the pod. The best-known use came during the operations in the Persian Gulf, where F-111F machines struck targets protected by dense defenses with these bombs. Besides them the weapon was carried by Phantoms, later by the F-15E and F-16I, and in trials by heavy bombers as well.
The cruciform surfaces have to be at right angles to one another, otherwise the whole comes across as twisted; the surest way is to glue them on a right-angle jig. The print texture on large flat areas is leveled by wet sanding with fine paper. The shade tends to be light with a dark cover over the forward seeker and colored bands at the charge. Fill the small optical window in the nose with a drop of gloss only after the matte clear coat is done.
Neither the carrying aircraft, nor paints, nor glue is included.
