The resin figure 1:32 Japanese pilot - WWII brings a Japanese airman in a scale that matches large aircraft models as well as the classic collector size of 54 mm.
Responsibility details are not available.
A pilot cast at one thirty-second of real size measures around fifty-four millimeters. That is at the same time the traditional collector size for tin and resin figures, and the scale in which most large aircraft kits come out. The figure can therefore be stood by the wing of a finished machine, seated in a cockpit or displayed on its own on a small plinth.
Japanese fighters of the Second World War are commonly built in this scale: the navy carrier-based Zero, the army Hayabusa with a pair of machine guns above the engine, or the later Hayate. The fates of their pilots were nothing like the same, though: while prewar airmen went through a selection harder than anywhere else and flew hundreds of hours, after the losses at Midway and over the Solomon Islands they were replaced by intakes whose training was cut to a fraction of the original time. That difference marked the course of the war in the Pacific more than the technical parameters of the aircraft did.
At a size of around five centimeters it pays to paint in layers and to exaggerate the contrast a little, because from a distance the shadows merge visually. For the face a base, a darker tone into the eye sockets and brightening on the nose and cheekbones are enough. A thin line of thinned brown will bring out the seams of the flying suit.
It is supplied as an unpainted resin casting for you to finish yourself.
