A set of four Mk.82 aircraft bombs fitted with Mk.15 Snakeye retarding fins in the thermally protected version, made by 3D printing from resin in 1:32 scale. The thermally protected version has the characteristic ablative coating on the bomb body. The opening retarding fins allow a low-altitude release and make a prominent detail of the underwing stores.
The Mk.82 is an American low-weight-class aircraft bomb from the Mark 80 family, used by many types of combat aircraft. Combined with the Snakeye fins it serves for accurate release from low altitude, when the opened fins retard the bomb and take it away from the aircraft. The thermally protected version was intended for use aboard ships, where the risk of fire is higher.
Wash the parts to remove print resin residue, separate the print supports and glue them with super glue. Paint the bomb body according to the chosen ordnance scheme; the ablative coating can be suggested by shade and a fine texture. We recommend painting the fins and the body separately.
This is a detail accessory, not a stand-alone model. Paints, glue and the base model are not included in the package.
