A large-scale injection-molded kit of the two-seat trainer version of the MiG-21 from the Trumpeter brand. The model is molded in gray polystyrene completed by clear parts for both cockpits and the canopy. A metal nose cone (the radome) is also included, which at the same time serves as the nose weight, along with metal main landing gear legs and rubber tires. The engine is worked out in detail, and so are the front and rear cockpits with their dual controls.
The MiG-21UM is the two-seat trainer version of the most widespread supersonic fighter of the Cold War, developed by the Mikoyan-Gurevich design bureau. Unlike the single-seat combat versions it has a lengthened, higher-set instructor's cockpit and dual controls, while keeping the characteristic delta-wing silhouette and the Tumansky turbojet. It served dozens of air forces around the world for the basic and advanced training of MiG-21 pilots.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic, and join the metal landing gear legs and the nose cone with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer before painting; in a large scale the transitions and the panel lines sprayed with an airbrush come into their own. Do not forget the nose weight, so that the model stands on its nose wheel once it is finished. Finish and glaze both cockpits before you close the fuselage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
