A detail set from Reskit intended to improve a plastic model of the Panavia Tornado combat aircraft in 1:32 scale. It is NOT a model of an aircraft but an accessory that replaces the engine exhaust nozzles with a convincing resin replica with finely worked inner and outer detail. On the Tornado the nozzles are among the most exposed places to the eye, and a resin replacement noticeably raises the realism of a finished model.

The real subject

The Panavia Tornado is a supersonic combat aircraft with a variable-geometry wing, developed by an international consortium and used in strike and reconnaissance versions. Its two engines with afterburners end in the characteristic variable exhaust nozzles whose fine structure this set reproduces exactly.

Building and painting tips

First wash any mold release residue off the parts and separate them carefully from the casting blocks. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways while sanding. The nozzles come out well with metallic shades and a dark wash that brings out the inner petals and the traces of heat.
