1:35 15 cm Panzerwefer 42 rockets

15 cm rockets for the Panzerwerfer 42 launcher, 1:35 scale

A set of 15 cm rockets belonging to the German Panzerwerfer 42 rocket launcher, in 1:35 scale. It is an accessory for a finished model and for a diorama, not a kit of the vehicle.

The real subject

The Panzerwerfer 42 was a German self-propelled rocket launcher of the Second World War built on a half-track chassis. The launch tubes were carried by a rotating superstructure on the hull, so the crew could fire a salvo and change position quickly. That mattered with rocket artillery, because the smoke trail of the departing rounds gives the firing position away within a few seconds. Loading was done by hand and from the outside, and that is exactly the scene that individual rockets make it possible to show in a diorama.

How the set is used

• The rockets can be placed into the launch tubes of the model and so show a loaded position.
• In a diorama they serve for a loading scene, with members of the crew passing them up to the superstructure.
• Rounds laid loose beside the vehicle bring the space around the model to life.
• Cut away surplus material with a sharp blade a short distance from the part and sand the remainder.
• Wash and degrease the parts before painting, and choose the glue according to the material of the parts.

Who it is for

For builders of German vehicles of the Second World War and for makers of dioramas who want to show the work of the crew around a vehicle. The manufacturer gives the number of rockets and the extent of the package.

Paints and glue are not supplied, unless stated otherwise.
