Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Sturmtiger heavy assault vehicle in 1:35 scale from Italeri. The model captures the massive enclosed superstructure on the chassis of the Tiger I tank with the short 38 cm rocket mortar. The kit usually offers tracks either as glued rubber bands or as individual links and decals for several versions; for the exact contents of the package, check the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Sturmtiger was built on the chassis of the Tiger I heavy tank as an answer to the need to destroy fortified positions and resistance in built-up areas. It carried the huge 38 cm RW 61 rocket mortar, which originally derived from a naval depth weapon; its projectile could bring down a whole house, but the range was short and the ammunition supply small. Only a few dozen vehicles were built and they were committed to action at the end of the war. For their rarity and massive appearance they are among the favorite subjects of collectors.
Cut the parts off the sprues and glue them with a thin cement for plastic. First finish the running gear and the lower hull, and only then close up the superstructure. The bulky front of the superstructure and the loading crane offer a large area for effects; once the basic camouflage is on with an airbrush, bring out the details with a wash and lay mud and dust onto the running gear with pigments. Consider bringing out the concrete facing and the splinter marks for a rough combat look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
