The M230 cannon for the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter in 1:35 scale from the brand Reskit is cast in the flight position, that is swung forward.
Responsibility details are not available.
The thirty-millimeter chain gun is as characteristic of the AH-64 as its angular silhouette. The Reskit casting captures it in the state the weapon takes in flight, that is turned forward and ready to follow the movement of the gunner's head.
The cannon hangs under the forward part of the fuselage in a turning mount and is fed by an electrically driven chain, which is where its designation comes from. The sighting system turns it according to where the crew is looking through the helmet-mounted sight, so the barrel constantly changes direction in flight. It is precisely this link between gaze and weapon that made the Apache a machine able to hit a target off the axis of flight.
The part is glued into the mount under the nose; verify in advance that the barrel makes a zero angle with the longitudinal axis, otherwise the model looks crooked. The barrel will take darkening toward the muzzle and fine metallic rubbing, while the rest of the weapon stays in the matte shade of the fuselage. Take care not to bend it while handling, because the casting is slender. A thin layer of filler will level the transition between the casting and the plastic of the fuselage, so that the mount does not look stuck on.
The helicopter itself is a separate kit; this is only its weapon part.
