A figure set of British infantry of the Second World War in 1:35 scale, intended for dioramas and for models of Allied equipment.
Responsibility details are not available.
During the Second World War the British infantry went through theaters from North Africa through Italy to northwestern Europe. The soldier was dressed in a practical field blouse and trousers without decoration, over which he wore web equipment with ammunition pouches, a canteen and an entrenching tool. It is precisely the simplicity of this appearance that is treacherous when painting: a figure stands or falls with the shade of the cloth and with how worn and dusty the equipment is, because there are no other prominent features on it.
The set renders British infantry in 1:35 scale, that is in the size that matches ordinary kits of military equipment. The contents of the package, the number of parts and the order of assembly are given in the manufacturer's instructions; follow them in fitting the small items of equipment as well.
Cut any excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder back, and fill the seams at the shoulders and the waist with putty so that the clothing runs on. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts. Before painting, wash, degrease and seal with a base color. Build the skin from several thin layers and paint it separately from the clothing. Keep the cloth in muted tones and suggest the differences between the blouse, the trousers and the equipment by shade rather than by saturation. Finally, tie the whole figure together with a fine wash into the folds and light dust on the boots and the lower part of the trouser legs.
The set suits dioramas with Allied equipment and models of vehicles, where without infantry a scene looks deserted. Models of vehicles, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
