1:35 DKW German Motorcycle rider - WWII is a resin figure of a motorcyclist of the German armed forces of the Second World War in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The casting captures a soldier in a riding pose: the torso leaning forward, the hands at the handlebars, the feet resting on the footrests. The figure from the Italian manufacturer Royal Model is made of polyurethane resin and is designed to sit on the light DKW NZ 350 machine. The motorcycle itself is not included in the package and is supplied from another kit.
The single-cylinder two-stroke NZ 350 came from Zschopau in Saxony and was among the most widespread light motorcycles of the German army. It served mainly couriers, reconnaissance patrols and junior commanders as a fast link between headquarters and a unit in the field. Against the heavy sidecar machines it was cheap, light and easy to handle across country, which secured it a place with practically every branch of the service. Motorcyclists wore a long rubberized coat and goggles against the dust, and it is exactly these that form the most prominent feature on the figure.
Try the figure dry on the machine itself before gluing. The seating position and the angle of the arms are adjusted to the particular handlebars, and once the glue has set there is nothing more to be done about it. Take the mold remnants and casting blocks off with a scalpel and a fine file. A light gray primer will reveal small bubbles, which simply need filling and sanding back.
There is only the figure in the box. The motorcycle, the paints and the glue are not included.
