A classic kit of the Italian Fiat 3000 light tank of the first series in 1:35 scale from the Italian brand Tauro Model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the first Italian tank built in series, released by the domestic manufacturer Tauro Model. It is an older mold, of the kind that still turns up among models of interwar Italian equipment: there are fewer parts than in contemporary new releases, but in exchange you get to build a subject that other brands practically never do. The first series designation refers to the original form of the vehicle with machine gun armament.
The Fiat 3000 came about on the basis of experience with the French Renault FT, which Italy acquired at the end of the First World War. Domestic designers redrew the machine, improved the engine and the weight distribution, and the result was a light and nimble tank whose first series carried a pair of machine guns in the turret. Only a few dozen vehicles were built, yet they became the basis of the Italian armored units of the 1920s and served for training long after more modern types had replaced them in the inventory. The later form received a cannon in place of the machine guns.
With older molds, count on flash along the mold seams and on the joints needing to be fine-tuned. Before you start gluing, try the parts dry and get some filler ready. A small vehicle will take stronger weathering: dust the tracks and the lower hull with pigments, and on the riveted surfaces a dark wash and a lighter emphasis on the edges come out well.
The tank is sold unassembled and without paint. Paints and glue are not included in the delivery.
