This set from the Italian maker Royal Model brings resin and fine etched parts of the personal equipment and kit of German infantry of the Second World War in 1:35 scale. It contains the typical kit of the day, including helmets, bread bags, ammo pouches, canteens, mess tins, gas masks, straps and buckles, with which figures, vehicles or a diorama can be completed. It is an accessory, not a figure or a model.
The personal equipment of a German infantryman of the Second World War was a well-worked-out system of belts, pouches, bread bags and containers. Hung on figures, laid on equipment or dropped about a scene, it gives a diorama credibility and tells a story, which is precisely why a separate accessory set is sought after among modelers.
Wash the resin parts clean of mold release agent and cut off the casting blocks, and shape the small etched buckles and straps with tweezers. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting; paint the individual items separately according to the material (leather, canvas, metal) and bring them out with a wash and drybrushing.
