The model offers the angular turret of the early series, a detailed hull, running gear with tracks and a decal sheet for several users. Small photo-etched parts are sometimes included as well. It is a popular modern armor subject with a good level of detail.
The Leopard 2 is a German main battle tank, one of the most widespread modern tanks of Western design. The 2A4 version was the most numerous subvariant, with its characteristic angular welded turret. The main armament is a 120 mm Rheinmetall smoothbore gun, and the power comes from a powerful turbocharged MTU diesel engine. Leopard 2A4s have served and still serve in the armies of a number of European and non-European states, which have upgraded them further.
Assemble the running gear and the tracks, then the hull and the turret with its side skirts. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic, and the etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Lay down a primer and spray with an airbrush; the three-tone NATO camouflage in green, brown and black is typical of European machines. The hard edges of the camouflage are best done with masking; the weathering comes from a wash, edge highlighting and dust pigments on the running gear.
