The set holds plastic parts for hand pallet jacks in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian brand Miniart. It is not a model of a vehicle or a piece of equipment but an add-on kit for a scene: finished jacks like these are used in warehouses, workshops, at railway stations and at loading docks.
A hand pallet jack is a simple handling device with forks that slide under a pallet and hydraulics operated by pumping the tiller. The design has barely changed since the middle of the 20th century, so the same type suits civilian and military scenes across a broad span of time, from a warehouse and a factory to the back areas of an airfield or a depot.
The parts are small, so separate them with a sharp cutter or photo-etch nippers and sand the remains of the gates rather than snapping them off. Build and paint the jacks separately and only then set them into the scene, or it is hard to get a brush between the forks and the frame. A base coat in a more saturated color looks best when wear is added to it: chipping on the edges of the forks, rubbing on the handle, dust and rust where they touch the ground. A silver pencil or a dry brush does the metallic shine on the most worked places well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
