The large plaster set concrete barrier section 1:35 from Royal Model. One of the brand's largest diorama elements.
Responsibility details are not available.
This large plaster set captures part of the concrete barrier that has run through Palestinian territory since the turn of the millennium. Royal Model casts it in plaster and within the brand's range it is one of the largest diorama pieces.
The structure was built as a security measure and consists of alternating wire fences with ditches and tall concrete panels, which stand mainly in built-up areas. The panels tend to be several times the height of an adult, and their smooth surfaces quickly became a place for lettering and paintings. It is exactly those that make the model a strong visual whole and at the same time leave room for your own idea in the painting.
Plaster sands well and cracks are easy to scribe into it, so the panels can be aged or partly damaged. Level the segments on a flat board and join them with PVA glue; the absorbent material takes it in and the bond tends to be stronger than with cyanoacrylate. Spray the surface with primer, and only then build the shades of concrete and add the stains of rainwater running down from the top edge. Darken the bottom at ground level with dust and a sprayed mist of mud, because that is where the dirt clings most.
The panels are supplied raw and unpainted; the PVA glue and the primer are up to you.
