This plastic kit in 1:35 scale by Trumpeter represents the German L4500A truck converted into a mobile anti-aircraft platform with the 2cm Flak 38 gun. The set contains an elaborate drivetrain with the engine, the gearbox and the axles, tires with the tread pattern rendered, and photo-etched parts.
The Mercedes-Benz L4500A was a heavy all-wheel-drive truck used by the Wehrmacht during the Second World War. A number of vehicles were converted into self-propelled anti-aircraft carriers. The 2cm Flak 38 gun was one of the most widespread German light anti-aircraft weapons and served against low-flying targets as well as ground targets.
Start with the chassis, the engine and the drivetrain, which form the skeleton of the model. Keep the cargo platform and the gun mount separate while painting, so that you can reach the detail better. Use liquid cement for plastic on the joints, shade the whole with an airbrush and add washes and pigments for dust effects. The gun can be painted separately.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
