An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Republic P-47M Thunderbolt fighter in 1:72 scale from Revell. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; it is a plastic kit with a higher level of detail, to be glued and sprayed. The kit has engraved surface detail, a detailed cockpit, a radial engine and additional stores. In terms of difficulty it suits modelers who already have some experience.
The P-47 Thunderbolt was one of the heaviest and bulkiest single-seat fighters of the Second World War, powered by a turbocharged Pratt & Whitney radial engine. The late P-47M was the fastest production variant, developed above all to intercept fast targets, and served with USAAF units in Europe in the closing stages of the war.
Use liquid polystyrene cement and sand the fuselage and engine cowling joints carefully. Finish the cockpit and the engine before you close up the fuselage. Spray the base coat over a primer, preferably with an airbrush; the natural metal finish of the late aircraft can be done with metallic paints, which have to be stirred thoroughly. Apply a gloss clear coat over the areas that take decals.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
