It is a large and richly detailed model: the cab is formed by multi-directional slide molding, the kit has a complete drive train with the engine, the gearbox, the transfer cases and the suspension, and metal and photo-etched parts complete it. The M1142 TFFT came about by joining a heavy 8x8 army chassis (the HEMTT from the Oshkosh company) with a fire fighting body from the Pierce company. It entered trials in 2005 and reached the units from 2007. It is a multipurpose vehicle able to work in difficult terrain: it fights fires in the open, in low buildings, fires of fuel and hazardous substances, of equipment and the aftermath of air accidents. It combines the mobility of a military chassis with the equipment of a modern fire tender.
On a large model with many parts, follow the instructions and let the subassemblies (chassis, engine, body) dry thoroughly. Glue the parts with a thin cement for plastic and the metal and photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. The vehicle can carry a sand desert color as well as the American olive scheme; after varnishing, bring the details out with a wash and add restrained working dust. Glue the glazing of the cab carefully with a cement suitable for clear parts.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
