An accessory set from the manufacturer Magic Factory with a metal barrel of the M242 Bushmaster automatic cannon in 1:35 scale. It replaces the plastic part from a kit and is fitted into the turret or the weapon station of a finished model. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
The M242 Bushmaster is an automatic cannon of 25 mm caliber with a chain-driven action, used as the main armament of infantry fighting vehicles and armored reconnaissance vehicles of Western design. Its characteristic feature is a long slender barrel, which injected plastic reproduces only with difficulty: the part is split, it has a mold seam along its whole length and it bends easily while being cleaned up.
Cut the plastic barrel off where it comes out of the mount and level the surface. Fit the metal part dry and check the axis against the turret, and only then glue it with cyanoacrylate glue. The metal has to be degreased with alcohol and covered with a primer meant for metal, or the paint will rub off with handling. Paint the barrel separately and fit it only once it is dry; suggest the smoke residue at the muzzle with a fine pigment, not with a heavy layer.
