The casting 1:35 Modern outdoor street light represents a present-day street lamp for urban dioramas. Made of resin, unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
A street lamp of modern appearance, cast in polyurethane resin, will complete an urban scene in 1:35 scale. The tall pole with its outreach arm and flat luminaire turns up along roads, at parking lots and on sites, so it suits civilian as well as military scenes from recent decades. The goods are of Italian origin and the brand is called Royal Model.
A scene made up of vehicles and figures alone tends to be flat. A slender pole brings a vertical axis into it, divides the view and tells the viewer at once that this is a built-up setting. At the same time it gives scale: from the lamp you can tell how big the vehicle standing under it is. Anyone building for a display case will also appreciate that the pole can be moved to the edge and used to frame the whole scene.
Drill a hole in the foot of the pole and glue in a piece of wire that will pass through the groundwork; the lamp will then survive the display case being carried. Cyanoacrylate holds the joints, and the surface has to be given a primer first. A galvanized pole is well built up from a light gray with a hint of blue, over which a fine glaze and finally patches of white bloom are laid. The cover of the luminaire looks better with a trace of yellowed dust than as something brand new.
Groundwork, wire and paints are not included in the package.
