1:35 PRECAST CONCRETE WALLS

Precast concrete walls 1:35 (Meng)

This set from Meng contains precast concrete walls (panels) in 1:35 scale, cast in resin. It is not a vehicle model but a diorama element for depicting barriers, defensive positions, enclosures or damaged urban buildings. The surface faithfully imitates the texture of cast concrete.

The real subject

Precast concrete panels and barriers are used in modern conflicts as well as in civilian settings to protect buildings, close off streets and build checkpoints. Their rough surface, the joints and any damage make a rewarding subject for a realistic diorama.

Building and painting tips

First wash the parts to remove any mold release residue. Bring a base in gray shades to life with toning washes in the joints, drybrushing on the edges and discreet patches of damp or graffiti. Exposed reinforcement and chipped corners will give the walls a worn look.
