An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Pz.Kpfw. II Ausf. L Luchs (Sd.Kfz. 123) light reconnaissance tank in 1:35 scale from the Polish manufacturer Mirage Hobby. According to the manufacturer the box contains, besides the plastic parts, photo-etched elements and decals. The tracks are made up of individual links.
The Luchs, meaning lynx, was the final and most advanced member of the Panzer II family of light tanks. It was designed as a fast reconnaissance machine with new wide running gear with interleaved road wheels and a more powerful engine. It was armed with a 2 cm gun and a machine gun and was used in small numbers by reconnaissance detachments on the Eastern as well as the Western Front. Its speed and mobility made it a prized, if scarce, type.
Work with thin cement for plastic; the individual track links and the photo-etched parts call for patience and cyanoacrylate glue. Finish and paint the running gear before the final assembly. Apply a primer before painting and put the paints on with an airbrush. You create the weathering with washes in the details and dust pigments on the running gear and the lower areas of the hull.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
