An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Sd.Kfz.164 Nashorn tank destroyer in 1:35 scale from the maker AFV Club. The kit works the main armament, the 8.8 cm Pak 43 with its split muzzle brake, faithfully and offers a detailed interior of the fighting compartment. The tracks are in the form typical of AFV Club. Take the exact package contents from the manufacturer's catalog.
The Nashorn (earlier also the Hornisse) was a German tank destroyer developed in 1942 as an interim solution. A powerful 8.8 cm anti-tank gun was set in an open superstructure on a chassis using components of the Panzer III and Panzer IV tanks. Thanks to its long range it was able to destroy Allied tanks at a considerable distance, but the open and lightly armored hull made it vulnerable.
Assemble the running gear first and then the interior of the fighting compartment, which stays visible once the build is finished. Use thin modeling cement on the joints, treat the surface with a base color (primer) and apply the camouflage scheme with an airbrush. Bring the interior and the barrel out with washes and a dry brush, and finish the mud and dust effects with pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
