This injection-molded plastic kit captures the Soviet T-35 heavy tank in its older production form, that is, with the cylindrical turrets that the machines carried before 1938. It is a classic glue-together model in 1:35 scale from the Hobby Boss brand.
The T-35 was the only series-produced five-turreted tank in the world. In the main turret it carried a 76.2 mm KT-28 gun, in the two smaller gun turrets 45 mm guns, and machine guns in two further small turrets. The crew numbered over ten men and the power came from a converted aircraft engine. It was built in Kharkiv in small batches from the middle of the 1930s and in peacetime it mainly filled a ceremonial role at parades. In the fighting of 1941 it turned out that the gigantic and barely mobile machine with its thin armor stood no chance against modern anti-tank defenses, and the great majority of the vehicles were lost during the first few weeks.
It pays to proceed in units: first the running gear and the side plates, and only then to close the hull up. Keep the turrets removable until the painting is finished, otherwise neither brush nor nozzle will reach the surfaces underneath. A primer and an even coat of Soviet green are the foundation, and the modeling of the surface will stand out after a dark wash and a light dry brush. The riveted joints and the lower hull can take a layer of dust pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
