This injection-molded plastic kit from MiniArt captures the German Sturmgeschütz III assault gun in the Ausf. G version from the Alkett plant production of March 1943. It is the version with a full interior and with winter tracks (Winterketten), widened for movement through deep snow and mud. Besides the plastic parts the box contains photo-etched parts, clear parts and a decal sheet with several marking options.
The StuG III Ausf. G was the most widespread and the longest produced version of the whole family of assault guns built on the chassis of the Panzer III tank. With its low silhouette and a 7.5 cm StuK 40 gun in a fixed superstructure, the vehicle served both to support the infantry and as an effective tank destroyer. The version from the beginning of 1943 is distinguished by early design details of the superstructure and the hull.
We recommend assembling and painting the interior and the running gear before you close up the hull. Use thin modeling cement on the plastic, fill the joints and treat the surface with a primer. An airbrush is ideal for spraying; the final weathering is built up with washes and pigments, which will bring out the rivets, the welds and the traces of wear, above all on the winter tracks.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
