This kit from the RPG Model brand captures the Soviet and later Russian T-80U main battle tank. It is a model of the vehicle in its own right, meant to be assembled and painted yourself, not an accessory set for somebody else's box.
The T-80 type differs from the other Soviet tanks in its power unit: in place of a diesel engine there is a gas turbine at work, thanks to which the vehicle accelerates exceptionally briskly and starts almost at once in a frost. The price is high fuel consumption. The U variant of the mid-1980s was given built-in explosive reactive armor covering the front of the turret and the hull, an improved fire control system and the ability to launch an anti-tank guided missile straight through the barrel of its 125 millimeter gun with an autoloader. The tank served with Soviet and Russian units and was exported abroad as well.
The characteristic blocks of reactive armor shape the look of the whole vehicle, so seat them according to the drawing symmetrically and with even gaps. The rubber side skirts are easier to shape after brief warming. Russian schemes tend to be a uniform green or three-color; on the large areas of the turret a fine modulation and light dust around the hatches look good.
You build and paint the model yourself; the package comes with no glue and no paints.
