An injection-molded plastic kit of the American main battle tank M60A3 in 1:35 scale from the Japanese brand Tamiya. The model is made up of precisely shaped parts and contains the running gear, the turret with its 105 mm gun and a decal sheet for a finish in US Army colors. The actual number of parts and schemes is given in the instructions enclosed in the box.
The M60A3 was the ultimate upgrade of the proven Patton and M60 line. It carried a 105 mm gun and, compared with the older versions, received an improved fire control system with a laser rangefinder and a ballistic computer, which considerably raised first-round accuracy. It served with the United States Army and with a number of allies for most of the Cold War and became one of the most widespread Western tanks of its day.
Finish and paint the running gear and the lower hull before you close up the tub. Use liquid cement for plastic on the plastic, and fill and sand the joints. An airbrush and a primer suit an even base; the tank gains a faithful look from weathering with washes in the recesses and dust or mud pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
