Photo-etched set of side skirts over the running gear for models of the King Tiger heavy tank in 1:35 scale. It is cut for the Rye Field Model kits with the manufacturer's part numbers RFM5125 and RFM5126.
Responsibility details are not available.
On the real vehicle the sheet-metal covers over the running gear are only a few millimeters thick, whereas in injection-molded plastic the same part is incomparably heavier in 1:35 scale. It shows most on the edge that faces the viewer. This set offers photo-etched metal replacements cut for two specific kits, the manufacturer's part numbers RFM5125 and RFM5126.
The Tiger II, widely known as the King Tiger, was a German heavy tank of the closing stage of the Second World War. It combined steeply sloped armor with a long 8.8 cm gun barrel and ranked among the heaviest machines of its day, which told on its mobility and its reliability. On surviving and photographed vehicles the covers over the running gear were often bent or missing, so on a model they are a rewarding feature: a bend, a dent or a missing section can all be shown on them.
The photo-etched set is supplied on its own. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise. The scope of the set and the assembly sequence are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
