The Sd.Kfz. 234 was a German heavy armored car of the end of the Second World War. It stood on eight wheels, all of them driven and steered, and the vehicle could be driven from either end, so reversing was as fast as going forward. The 234/1 version carried an open turret with a 20 mm cannon. The nickname Puma has taken hold for this whole family, but it belongs to the 234/2 version with the closed turret and heavier armament. The wheels with their coarse off-road tread are the most prominent element on the vehicle and the viewer has them right at eye level on a model.

The number of pieces, the division of the part into tire and rim, and which kit they are planned around are given in the manufacturer's instructions and on the box; before fitting them, therefore, compare the diameter and the seating of the stub with what your kit has.
Cut any excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder back, so that the wheel seats flat. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Paint the tire and the rim separately, best while they are apart, and fit the wheel only once it is dry. If the tires are rendered with flattening from the weight of the vehicle, turn them so that the flattened part points toward the ground, otherwise the model looks as if it were standing on eggs. Choose the glue according to the material, and on parts that are not polystyrene cyanoacrylate glue will hold.
For modelers of German equipment who are bothered by a softly suggested tread and by manufacturing marks on the wheels from a kit. It pays off above all on a vehicle that stands on eight wheels, because the fault is repeated eight times there. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
