An injection-molded plastic set of figures from the Ukrainian manufacturer ICM in 1:35 scale. It represents an Austro-Hungarian machine gun crew of the First World War together with a Schwarzlose heavy machine gun and its accessories. The figures are unglued and unpainted and will serve excellently to bring a trench diorama to life or as a scene in their own right.
The Schwarzlose M.07/12 machine gun was the standard heavy machine gun of the Austro-Hungarian army in the First World War. It was marked by a robust design with a delayed blowback action and water cooling; it was served by a crew of several men who carried the weapon, set it up in a firing position and supplied it with ammunition. Machine gun nests were the backbone of the defense in the trench warfare of the Italian, Russian and Balkan fronts. The uniforms and helmets capture the period appearance of the Imperial and Royal Army.
Separate the parts from the sprues with a sharp knife and glue them with thin cement for plastic. Apply a primer before painting. The field uniforms of the Imperial and Royal Army had grayish shades (the period pike gray and field gray), so painting in layers with shading and a dry brush is the way to go. The weapon and the metal parts are finished off with a dark wash and fine edge highlighting.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
